R2 is OVER!!!!

OK big looser here!!! For two reasons... 1st R2P2 is OVER and I am down a total 45lbs in 2 rounds!! The other is that I haven't written in weeks! Can you figure out which of these options is positive and which is negative :) LOL!!

End results:
Michelle R2P2 LIW 182.2 Total melt for the R -23.5 all said -45.8 YEA ME!!!
Brian R1R2 LIW 196.5 Total melt -34.5

So, the last 1 1/2 wks have been pretty wild. I really wish I would have told you about them instead of waiting so long. Let me start w/ the 18th of June - I made a shower cake for a co-worker and ended up eating about 4inches worth. This was a BAD thing because it made me crave sugar in a BAD way for 3 solid days. Finally on June 20th I gave into the cravings and ate a bunch of lemon bars (I made them for a friends B-Day) then that night I went to a concert where during the intermission they gave out bite treats - I had 3 or 4....lets say 4! Shame Shame I know your name!!!! This lead to a gain that I had to work out - and I did but, geeze wizz - not where I wanted to be!

So on the 20th I went to a friends birthday party (I haven't seen them since February) and everyone there (who I knew) was in shock when they saw me. They couldn't believe how "thin" I looked. I saw one lady whom I had talked w/ tons of times. When I said HI she looked at me like I was a freak - later she admitted she didn't recognize me. She said my hair was way longer and the body much thinner....just like a new person ;) That felt pretty good!

I mentioned in earlier posts about my sister getting me some designer jeans. Well, when I first put them on, they were a bit too tight for my liking and I decided it may be a while before they went into the public w/ my body in them. Needless to say, this is not the case anymore. I have since worn them out 2x - they are comfy and fit nicely! In fact, I have since picked up 2 other pair to tool around in. My jeans are officially 12's... i don't know how long it has been since I have been able to wear those! Brian had been telling me not to buy in 34's cause he wasn't ready to be wearing such "small" clothes so, I bought him some 36 jeans and shorts. Yesterday he said "since you are going out....I don't mind if you look into getting me some 34 pants...the 36's are a bit baggy and require a belt" Such a man!!

Well, the next 3 weeks are all about getting the weight loss stabilized and maintaining what we have melted away. I go to the Dr's tomorrow to check in - I am sure she will be surprised! Today was our first "other" food day. I don't think Brian ate near enough and I feel like a stuffed pig. According to my calorie counter I short ate about 245 calories but, I feel like I ate 1000's more than I should have - we will see what tomorrow brings!

When on P3 (for the next 3 weeks) the goal is to keep our weight w/in 2lbs of LIW. If at anytime we go over the 2lbs we have to do a correction day. True protocol is a steak day - nothing to eat for breakfast or lunch then at dinner you get the biggest steak you can eat w/ an apple or raw tomato. I have heard about chicken, egg & protein shake correction days. But, as a beef eater, if I have to have one it will be steak. During R1 I never had a correction day. The highest I got was about 1lb over. I pray I have the same luck this time.

Well, I will go for now... more on Weds - my next day off! Lighter Later!

R2P2 Day 24

Well, if you look at my tickler - you will notice I am only 12.3 lbs from my goal of 175 and in the big 4-0 in fat melt. How frickin' cool is that?? I finally decided I needed to get into my closet and try on all my pants and remove the BIG ones from reach. As excellent as the idea was it was pretty sobering as well. I found I only have 3 pairs of long jeans that fit (had about 15 pair), 2 pair of non "blue" pants and 2 pair of Capri's (that I had just bought). Now I have to decided if I am going to go out and buy new pants (w/ the plan of going on R3 in early fall and dropping additional pant sizes) or if I should go to Value Village and see what they have? The quandary!

I have been feeling really good lately and have started to plan our new eating style when we are done w/ P2. In preparation I have been looking at a TON of cookbooks and am finding the same meals everyday are getting old. I think when I started P2 there is no light at the end of tunnel because it is so far to the end but, now..... I am only a mere 8 days and I know the next 8 days will FLY!!! Oh, I didn't mention that I am making a cake for work tomorrow. It is going to be chocolate and peanut butter - how yummy!

Well, here are the stats for today:

Results of Day 20 (Sat) compared to today Day 24 (Weds)
Michelle - R2P2
Saturday start: 189.2
Wednesday start: 187.3 (-1.9 from Saturday)
Round 2 total: -18.4

My round 2 totals are a bit better today (Day 24) then they were during R1. R1 day 24 drop total was -17.4....So, R2 is 1 lb better.... but, Day 25 on R1 showed a 1.8 drop. We will see what tomorrow brings. I keep talking about cutting out the SF white chocolate - I still haven't done it. I was saying it would happen today but, I think I am going to change my mind again. I think it is going to be my last week - so I will start on Monday morning - OK not really a week but, at least a few days :)

Cheers!

R2P2 Day 20

Well, its been since Wednesday hasn't it?? I actually had nothing to report! On Thursday morning I weighed down -.3 and Friday I had no activity. So, we will start w/ today!

Results of Day 20
Michelle - R2P2
Friday start: 191.4
Saturday start: 189.2 (-2.2 from prior day)
Round 2 total: -16.5

Frickin crazy huh?? So, I really don't know what to think! Since Auntie Flo decided to visit w/o recourse on Weds. night, I decided to skip my shots on Thursday and Friday. I really didn't have any issues, just some mild crazy cravings. I had read that this was the best course of action. I also read that once flo starts, the injections should stop for a couple of days...so...I did it! I also read that when some women start to ovulate they tend to have issues getting rid of weight and experience stalls. Could this have been my issue over the last 2 weeks? I started getting the cramping almost 2 weeks ago...I went with it... then I had 2 days of CRAZY flo and then a historic loss? I just don't get the whole female internal body thing!!

On another note - Brian (as of yesterday) was down 24.3 lbs. He can only rid himself of 9.7 more before he has to be taken off of the shot. At this rate, he could be off by the end of next week? Such a punk!! My sister started this past Sunday w/ her 1st VLCD day on Wednesday. In 3 days she is down about 5.5-6 lbs. She isn't keeping really good track but, she is down and pleased. Her BF did however, bring home a bunch of sugar snacks last night and then got pizza for him & Savannah to eat. What kind of support is that Lyle?

Well, I have a friend who is wanting to start today. I am going over to her house to walk her thru it. More later!

R2P2 Day 17

Results of Day 16
Michelle - R2P2
Tuesday start: 191.6
Wednesday start: 191.7 (+.1 from prior day)
Round 2 total: -14.0

Brian - R1P2
Tuesday start: 209.1
Wednesday start: 207.4 (-1.7 from prior day)
Round 1 total: -23.6

WTF!!! No, it really isn't that bad. Remember me saying yesterday how I ate dinner again late last night? It was about 8:15-8:30 - I had tomato soup w/ chicken. It was super tasty but, I was actually full after eating 1/2 of if but, since I wanted all my protein and didn't want to waste, I ate the whole bowl (yes I really ate the bowl!)...No really, it was just the food inside of it :)

I bought a new scale today - it is one of those fancy ones that measures BMI, body hydration and it will tell me immediately if I gained or lost over night. I got it 50% off at Kohl's. I told Brian I got a new one and he told me he was going to keep using the old one because it has been super nice to him lately! Brian also reminded me he can only loose 10 more lbs before he has to be cut off the liquid gold. I only have one thing to say to him - PUNK ASS!

Today I went shopping and bought a couple more pairs of shorts (they were only $5 at Target) and can you believe they were size 12? It still catches me off guard... I also went to my Safe Deposit box today. Guess what I did? I had to put my replacement wedding band (the original one's diamond fell out) into the box because it is getting to big for me and I am to cheap to get it sized (actually will wait until I am done melting all my fat - maybe by the holidays?). I replaced it with the original engagement ring Brian got me....We didn't use that as the wedding ring because we wanted matching wedding bands. Technically I have 5 engagement/wedding bands. Sick huh!

So, I think TOM is actually coming... for almost a week I had been having these crazy totally random cramps. They would last about 5-10 min. and then go away for hours and hours and then happen again. Now I know what that was all about - no sudden trips to the Dr.'s needed now!

I got some great new cookbooks today. I got an ice-cream (Ice Dream) book. All the recipes are dairy-free & Gluten free. Some of them are made w/ stevia so they will be P3 friendly for me and they will be excellent for Brian since he is lactose intolerant. I am totally excited to start making some of these... Another new book is all about Gluten free cooking - more on that later - for now I need to get through the next 18 days before I start thinking about this!

Have a great day!

Brian and I were up on the scales this weekend (me more than him) and not too motivated to tell you about it!! I am over it now (so is he) and I am ready to spill.... Side note..Brian asked me if I was blogging' his progress too. I said 'yes'...so, do you think he should be given the link so he knows what I have said about him????hee hee

Round 1 total: -21.9

So, there you have it - the last 4 days of weight journals. I was looking at my progress from R2 day 16 vs that of R1 day 16 and so far, this round has been more successful. I was pretty surprised considering the gains I had. This time during R1 I had melted 13.3lbs of fat. I am doing slightly better this time! I hope to be at 185 by time we are done w/ our 35 shots....Only time will tell.

Brian is already asking me when we get to start our next rounds. I told him I wanted to take at least an 8 week break. I took 7 weeks between R1 & R2 and I think that was perfect. One of my co-workers (you know who you are!) told me that my weight loss was much more noticeable during the maint. phase then when actively taking the shots... I am sure it was the movement of the chub!

So do you want to know the hypothesis of my gains on Saturday and Sunday? Well here you go.... I promise you that these days were relatively protocol. By looking at the increase in weight you would think I went to an all you can eat buffet! But, that's not the case.

I decided it was because one of 3 reasons:

1. I am still using SF white chocolate powder (which is NOT on protocol but the stuff tastes so damn good). The amount I am using is equal to 25 cal./svg. And as my OK to use it I gave up the grissini/Melba each meal.

2. I was eating sweet onions as my vegetable each of those days (one day I ate two at dinner time). Again, these are soooo good! I slow cooked them on the grill and they were perfect plus, one day I made onion soup (my favorite P2 food)

3. (The most likely reason) We didn't eat dinner until almost 10pm both of those nights (Fri & Sat).

Now in regards to #1 - I started putting the SFWCP back into my diet on Day #10 and used it thru day #14 (so 5 days). Each day (minus Fri & Sat) my loss averaged 1/2 lb. So, I am thinking that if I keep it in my diet for now I will melt about 1/2 lb per day.. sounds logical but, either way, I didn't have ANY on Monday morning (when I drink my coffee) and was down over a 1lb this morning....hmmm... so, maybe I will just stay away from it until P3 in which case it will be used twice as much!

#2 I Have chosen to give up the sweet onions... It seems that periodically they are OK but, back to back meals maybe not recommended. I do remember on R1P2 there were a couple of times when I made onion soup I had small losses or slight gains the next day. Something for me to keep an eye on!

#3 It only logical that its never good to eat late. I must get better at that.. tonight was another late dinner night - it was almost 8:15 by time I ate. My DH came in and said "remember what happened this weekend? You better hurry and get dinner". I am glad he is watching out for me!! I hope I am able to register a loss tomorrow. I can feel the salt from tonight's dinner absorbing into my fingers (I had tomato soup w/ chicken).

Well, you will find out more tomorrow. If all else, you will at least be given the weight update. I am looking forward to a nice day...maybe I will do laundry..Oh YEA!

Lighter Later!

R2P2 Day 12

Well, I hope you can handle this every other day thing... I have been trying to get better but... life happens!!

Results of Day 11
Michelle - R2P2
Wednesday start: 193.5
Thursday start: 192.9 (-.6 from prior day)
Round 2 total: -12.8

Brian - R1P2
Wednesday start: 211.8
Thursday start: 211.1 (-.7 from prior day)
Round 1 total: -19.9

Results of Day 12
Michelle - R2P2
Thursday start: 192.9
Friday start: 192.4 9 (-.5 from prior day)
Round 2 total: -13.3

Brian - R1P2
Thursday start: 211.1
Friday start: 211.5 (+.4 from prior day)
Round 1 total: -19.5

Brian was all sorts of pissed this morning because he went up in weight. I asked him if he drank all of his water yesterday (it was hot and he was outside most of the day) and he said he didn't know. Plus, I told him we had a VERY late dinner. I don't think we at until 9:30 or 10, which no matter what eating plan you are on is not a good thing.

Me, on the other hand, was slightly surprised I was down this morning. I have decided to give up my grissini/melba toast on the daily basis in exchange for 1 1/2 scoop of sugar free white chocolate powder for my Americanos. Really not RECOMMENDED while on P2 but, this is what I want to do. In the last couple of days my void has averaged 1/2lb per day. I may have to cut back but, for now....this will be fine. I will keep you in touch w/ what happens there. The SFWCP (sugar free white choc powder) is made w/ all sorts of bad stuff and is sweetened w/ Splenda. I am sure I am craving it because it is one of my food sensitivities!

Over all the past few days have been pretty good. I think TOM may be coming soon... I say think because in all my years, I have never had a "typical" TOM. I have PCOS and went almost 4 yrs. w/ a period...Lately, since Sunday - every couple of days I have been getting these really sharp cramping feelings ... i hope its TOM and not something else. guess we will have to wait and see what the weekend brings. If all else, I call the Dr. on Monday.

Well, off to make lunch - think it's onion soup day for me!

R2P2 Day10

I guess it has been a couple days huh???? Well, here is what has happened over the past two days:

Results of Day 9
Michelle - R2P2
Monday start: 195.7
Tuesday start: 193.9 (-1.8 from prior day)
Round 2 total: -11.8

Brian - R1P2
Monday start: 215.2
Tuesday start: 212.9 (-2.3 from prior day)
Round 1 total: -18.1

Results of Day 10
Michelle - R2P2
Tuesday start: 193.9
Wednesday start: 193.5 (-.4 from prior day)
Round 2 total: -12.2

Brian - R1P2
Tuesday start: 212.9
Wednesday start: 211.8 (-1.1 from prior day)
Round 1 total: -19.2

So, Brian had to work at 6am this morning and when we got up and weighed he was break even for the day. I told him to wait until he came home during his lunch break and weigh again then... After all, he was up almost 5 hours earlier then normal - didn't get home from work until 11:30 last night so, his body needed some rest time. Well, he didn't listen to me and stepped on the scale until it registered a loss - what you see above for 10 day is a result of that.

I keep getting clothes at Costco and am finding that I sort of skipped from the 14's to the 12's. I don't understand that. I think I made mention I bought some capri's I needed to take back. Well I got some 14 shorts that I tried on when I bought them and they fit fine. I didn't take the tags off (this has been about 2-3 weeks) and I put them on yesterday and they were a bit baggy - back to Costco to go down a size. I ordered a few new T-shirts I sure hope they work. I still think I am super broad across the shoulders and w/ longer arms I have a hard time finding tops. We will see what happens!

Well, I may come back later and share but, I have to head out to run errands. I would like to get them done before noon. Lighter Later!

R2P2 Day 8

Results of Day 8
Michelle - R2P2
Sunday start: 197.0
Monday start: 195.7 (-1.3 from prior day)
Round 2 total: -10.0

Brian - R1P2
Sunday start: 215.5
Monday start: 215.2 (-0.3 from prior day)
Round 1 total: -15.8

Brian made mention tonight that he was disappointed in his loss. I told him not to worry and then showed him my R1 progress sheet. Good losses in the first week then drizzly at best after that. He lifted his shirt for me and it is AMAZING how it has been working for him thus far. I still wish he would have allowed me to take some before shots.

So I am amazed I did so well on the scale this morning. As I think I mention yesterday, I didn't get dinner on Saturday night (only ate an orange) and then yesterday I went grocery shopping w/o eating lunch first. By time I got to the co-op to purchase a few things I was STARVING and getting a bit queasy. So, I got a protein ball. Just a small little raw cookie thing. It had enough calories/fats as one lunch so, I didn't eat anything else til dinner. I think my poor eating rolled over into today as well.... I was really wanting one of my iced Americano coffees w/ Sugar Free white chocolate powder. Needless to say, I caved and got one. Each scoop of powder is 35 calories so, I just got one scoop and decided to bag the grassini's today to make up for it. I think it would have been fine if one of my co-workers didn't put 4 mini crackers on my desk. I was tempted to toss them but, since she was there, I couldn't be rude. Long story short, I think tomorrow will be a gain day. Lesson learned? I sure hope so!!

So, I went to Costco (you would think its the only store in town huh??) and bought a pair of Navy Blue Gloria Vanderbilt capri pants in a size 14. They were too big (I love it when clothes run big) I had to take them back to get a 12. They fit like a gem :) The 7 For All Mankind jeans my sister bought me are still a bit muffin top for me. I can get them buttoned but, the shirt would have to go over my ass to pull the pants off :)

Well, its been an hour since I had my dessert (strawberry slushy) so, I think it's safe to go to bed now. Lighter Later!!

Strawberry Slushy
allowed handful of strawberries
4 drops of lemon juice
12 oz cup 3/4 full of ice topped w/ water
8 drops of vanilla creme stevia

Blend like no tomorrow and drink away. It was very good. I think I might try w/ oranges tomorrow night. I LOVE creamsicles!
